Report A Guest Lecture –On Language and Literature: Interpretation to Communication.
Shakespeare Day celebrated
The Department of English as a team under
the leadership of Dr. P. P. Lohar, HoD organized a guest lecture on 23.04.2022.
The chief Guest Dr. D.S.Kale Assistant Professor &Head Department of
English, Amdar Sashikant Shinde College, Medha delivered a lecture on the
topic “ Language and Literature: Interpretation to Communication”. The
event began with invoking the blessings of the Almighty God. Dr.Rathod
R.B. P. G. Coordinator Department of English welcomed the gathering and
Dr. R.V.Shejawal Principal, L.B.S College, Satara delivered the
presidential address. The chief Guest Dr. D.S.Kale addressed the students on
how to develop language skills on their own. His speech was divided into three
parts. In the first part, he focused on how to develop the LSRW skills. In the
second part he distributed pictures to the students and he asked them to
scrutinize the picture after which they were asked to speak about the
picture.
Then
he compared the act of reading the picture to the act of reading a book viz.,
first one scans a book, then looks for a specific point and then critically
analyzes it. In the last part he covered the recent trends in literature with a
special focus on postcolonial theory, and Postmodern theory . There were 84
participants in total, consisting of students, research scholars, and teaching
faculty. A lively interactive session followed the speaker’s talk. Mr.S.A.Kamble and Mr. S. Shelar, a member of the organizing
committee was a great help. The programme came to an end with the vote
of thanks proposed by Dr. Rathod R.B.
