Career Counseling Programme
The Department of English conducted a Career Counseling Programme on ‘Opportunities in Banking Sector ’ on 31 May 2023 for the students to make them aware about the various Courses and Career Opportunities that will improve their skills and efficiency. The programme also aimed at motivating students to get track on their studies and to find out new career opportunities. The session was handled by P. P. Lohar, HOD, Department of English. Mr. Rajesh Pawar was the Resource person of the Program.Total 62 Students from department of Commerce and English participated in the Programme.
Mock Interview
English Department has conducted Mock Interview on 11th may 2023 at college. 16 students were participated from different faculty. Some students are from other colleges. There were two interview panels.
Quiz Competition on English Day (24/04/2023)
English Department has conducted quiz competition on the birth and death anniversary of renown dramatist William Shakespeare. The quiz on English language. prof. miss M.B.Sutar conducted the quiz. The program was started with welcoming of president vice-principal Dr.A.S. Tawar sir. Faculty member Mr.S.A.Kamble sir introduce the program and set the context of the day. Dr. R.B.Rathod propose vote of thanks. Mr S.S.Shelar plays a part of anchor. Dr P.P.lohar sir head of the department gave glimpse of Shakespeare's work . Miss S.A.Mohite gave technical support. 34 students were participated for the quiz from different faculty . quiz had three rounds. Juries were Mr.S.A.Kamble . Mr. S.S. Auti. Winners of the quiz got cash prize and certificates.

Lead Workshop ( 16/03/2023)
Department of English and Lead College Scheme has conducted a workshop on Interview Techniques on 16th march 2023 at Vivekanand Auditorium , at Lal Bahadur Shastri College, Satara. The resource person was Dr. S.G. Dixit from Mudhoji College Phaltan . He gave thorough information about interview techniques. Chair person was Vice Principal of arts , commerce Dr.A.S. Tawar sir. He gave his presidential speech. Head of the English Department Dr. Loahr P.P. ,Dr.Mujawar sir,Dr. Vyavhare Sir, Dr Sanap Sir were present for the workshop. Mr Kamble S.A. coordinator of lead college scheme, faculty of English department introduced the workshop. Dr. R.B Rathod welcome the guest. 65 students were present for the workshop. Vote of thanks proposed by student of B.A. II Vaishnavi Trimbyake . Anchoring was done by Miss. Sutar M.B. Miss S.A. Mohite did the registration process. Technical support was given by Shelar S.S.
Certificate course in Basic German Language oral exam conducted on 4th March 2023
Oral exam was conducted by English Department for the course of Basic German Language Mr. Prasanna Kulkarni was external examiner (Shabda Language Services ) Pune on 4th March at 17. no Hall.
National Conference on “Changing Nature of Literature in the Age of Technology” 11/2/2023
In collaboration with English Language Teachers Association of Indian (ELT@I), and also jointly with Marathi, Hindi and Sanskrit departments, the Department of English organized a national conference on Saturday, 11 Feb., 2023. The theme of the conference was “Changing Nature of Literature in the Age of Technology”. Prof. N. Shantha Naik, Department of English,Vijayanagara Sri Krishna devaraya University, Karnataka, was resource person while Prof. (Dr.) S. S. Sawant, President, ELT@I, Chapter Satara, and Head, Department of English, Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya, Satara was chairing the session allotted to Department. Prof. (Dr.) N. Shantha Naik delivered his scholarly speech on the topic ‘Facebook Poetry: An Overview’. There were 80 participants of English fraternity out of 151 coming from across India. Fifty participants who presented research papers in English showed their interest to publish their research paper in UGC-care listed journal.
Poetry Recitation Program 04/11/2023
Department of English organized a poetry recitation competition as its one the best practices to inculcate literary traits among students and to reward the budding literary talents. In the last year, the competition was on patriotism as major theme. In this year department has organized Poetry Recitation Competition on Theme of Nature on 4th November 2022 at English Department. 21 students were present for the program 15 Students have participated in competition different languages ( English, Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit) Principal R.V.Shejwal enlighten students about nature and our duty towards the nature. Vice Principal Dr. A.S. Tawar, Dr. P.C. Chikmath mam Head of History Department, Dr. R.F. Mujawar, Mayur Dharak Sanskrit, Dr. M.S. Jadhav, Dr. V. N. Sargar were present for the program . Husen Ghorpade got the first prize for his poetry reading. Anchoring was done by Nachiket and Shubhangi from B.A. II. Vote of thanks was proposed by Utsav from B.A. I.

Today on 30th September , the department of English organized a program for the inauguration of the wallpaper showing 'Linguistic Harmony'. The theme of the wallpaper is the love treated in different Indian languages' Our students compiled love poems in Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit, Marathi, etc languages and wrote theme in their handwriting. Our former vice principal and Head of the department of English D. G. Salunkhe sir was the chief guest. He enlighten the students by telling importance of 'Linguistic Harmony' while Dr. Tawar A.S. I am happy to inform you that, today, the department of English LalBahadurShastri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Satara introduced the concept of 'Activity based English Language Lab" a student-centered stage (no costly software lab). For this, the department extended its infrastructure by creating 'Students Platform', 'Talk to Me Mirror', "Speech Making Dice', ' ‘Round Table for Group Discussion, Interview, Chat group' , 'Menu card of Several Situational Conversations', 'Open Space for English Conversation’ etc.

English Department has organized One Day Teacher Training Program on How to Use Google Classroom for Teaching and Learning on 24th August 2022 at Senior Staff room at 11:30 a.m.45 faculties were present for the workshop from arts commerce and science . Mr. S.A. Kamble faculty of English Department introduced the program The resource person Mr.S.S. Shelar delivered a lecture on concern workshop.Dr. Gunjal Sir , Dr Mujawar Sir Dr. Sargar Sir .
