Workshop under the Lead College Scheme “Role of AI in Teaching and Learning Process”

Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Satara organized a workshop under the Lead College Scheme on the topic “Role of AI in Teaching and Learning Process” on 24th January 2026.

The workshop was organized with the objective of creating awareness among teachers and learners about the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. The programme focused on the ways in which AI-based tools and technologies can be effectively integrated into the teaching-learning process to make education more interactive, innovative, learner-centred and effective.

The programme was graced by Dr. Pramod Pandav, Deputy Registrar, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Pandav highlighted the changing educational landscape and emphasized the need for teachers and students to understand emerging technologies. He encouraged the participants to adopt technology responsibly and use AI as a supportive tool for improving academic practices.

Mr. Vinayak Kakde, Assistant Professor, Shashikant Shinde Mahavidyalay, Medha, was the Chief Speaker. He delivered an informative and engaging session on the role and applications of AI in education. He explained various possibilities of using AI tools for lesson planning, preparation of teaching-learning materials, assessment, content creation, personalized learning and academic support. He also emphasized the importance of ethical and responsible use of AI in the educational environment.

The programme was presided over by Mr. Shekhar Mohite, Principal, Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Satara. In his presidential address, he appreciated the initiative taken under the Lead College Scheme and stressed the importance of developing technological competencies among teachers and students. He stated that AI should be viewed as an opportunity to enhance, rather than replace, the role of teachers in the educational process.

The workshop provided participants with valuable insights into the potential of Artificial Intelligence in modern education. It helped them understand how AI can support effective classroom teaching, improve learning experiences, save time in academic tasks and encourage innovative pedagogical practices. The interactive nature of the session also encouraged participants to explore the practical applications of AI in their respective academic activities.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, Chief Speaker, President, organizers and all the participants for their valuable contribution and active participation. The programme proved to be a meaningful academic initiative and contributed significantly to promoting digital literacy, technological awareness and innovative teaching practices among the participants.

Conclusion:
