The
Department of English organized a Student Seminar for the students of B.A.
III on 07 October 2025 at the Vivekananda Auditorium. The
seminar was conducted as a part of the continuous internal evaluation and
experiential learning process for the subjects English for Communication
and Special English.
The
primary objective of the seminar was to develop students' communication,
presentation, and public speaking skills while encouraging them to engage in
independent learning and critical analysis. Students were assigned a variety of
topics from their syllabus and were encouraged to prepare well-structured
presentations supported by relevant examples and references.
A
total of 19 students actively participated in the seminar and presented
their assigned topics with confidence and enthusiasm. The presentations covered
different literary and communication-based themes, allowing students to
demonstrate their understanding of the subject matter. The seminar also provided
an opportunity for students to improve their language proficiency, analytical
thinking, and presentation techniques.
Following
each presentation, an interactive discussion session was conducted where
students responded to questions from their classmates and teachers. The
constructive feedback and academic interaction helped participants strengthen
their subject knowledge, improve their communication skills, and gain
confidence in public speaking.
The seminar proved to be an effective learner-centred activity that promoted active participation, collaborative learning, and critical thinking. It successfully enhanced the students' presentation skills and encouraged them to express their ideas clearly and confidently. Overall, the programme was informative, engaging, and beneficial for the academic and personality development of the participants.
